A Year to Return

I’m sure you’ve been there . . . after the Christmas rush, found yourself in a long line at the return department.

Every year my kids joke about how, as soon as they open their presents, I begin to over-emphasize that they can return ANYTHING I’ve given them. It’s just that I want them to have what they really want or need.

As I make gift returns and exchanges, I wonder if I need to make a trip for another kind of return - to Him.

God longs for us to approach Him, returning the things we don’t need for the thing He, in His wisdom, knows we most need: a living, dynamic relationship with Him that affects every part of our lives. The Lord longs for us to return all that’s unimportant and instead embrace the abundance He offers for our daily lives.

He can be our first and last thought every day as we live life to the full in service to Him.

So this January if you’re feeling disappointed with your faith journey and if you’re ready to exchange some of the lesser things for what you really need most, return to the Lord.

This is your year - you have no other!

Seek Him every single day of 2024 and have your needs fulfilled by Him alone. Ask Him to fill you with all of His goodness. Ask Him to help you walk more closely with Him. He’s ready and waiting to give it all away in abundance.

Returning . . . it’s the best start to a new year.

Today is a GOOD day!

Natalie
